Defaulting to Air may look like over-thinking or paralysis by analysis. We may ignore feeling-states flowing below our thoughts. We may ignore a hunch in favor of going “by the book.” We may avoid conflict in order to keep things “light.”

Defaulting to Earth may lead us to pass up social opportunities in favor of staying home. We may seek comfort rather than take risks. We may follow rules and miss out on innovation. We may be greedy or envious of others.
