Beyond the tidy storefronts and tidy streets of the Red Rose City lies a tapestry of lingering spirits, whispered legends, and tales tucked into attics and cellars. From tavern ghosts who never left last call, to courthouse apparitions, to the restless figures rumored to haunt theaters, Lancaster has been telling ghost stories  for a very long time.

Join folklorist and storyteller Rissa Miller for an immersive journey through Lancaster’s supernatural past. We’ll wander (through story and photographs) into historic homes, graveyards, and Main Street landmarks where sightings, strange happenings, and eerie encounters continue to ripple through local memory. You’ll hear accounts drawn from oral history, regional folklore, newspaper archives, and firsthand reports that reveal a Lancaster rarely seen.
